Job description
Wick Communications is seeking a publisher to lead The Wenatchee World, a storied multimedia news operation in the heart of central Washington. The Wenatchee World strives to inform daily through a comprehensive suite of digital channels, a three-day newspaper, two weekly community papers, lifestyle and business magazines, and several specialty publications. As an established community leader, The World frequently hosts topical town halls, a wine and food festival, and dedicates itself to sponsoring a range of community initiatives every year. As publisher, you’ll be responsible for oversight of the entire business, including editorial, advertising, circulation and a robust commercial printing facility — And you’ll be only the sixth titled publisher over the past 100 years. We’re looking for a strong leader with experience increasing top line revenue and EBITDA, implementing innovative digital strategies, diversifying revenue streams, leading a cohesive management team and participating in strategic planning. Experience managing a production facility is preferred. The ideal candidate will be comfortable coaching sales staff, engaging daily with local business leaders and advocating for local journalism.
