Job description

Position: Tutor

 The Tutor will facilitate instruction by working closely with classroom teachers to provide individual and group tutoring supporting the TEKS. They will provide online learning support to students utilizing various learning support portals and will provide academic monitoring and intervention to assigned groups of students. They will report to the Campus Director.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Tutor students in math, reading, writing and science; Help students implement learning strategies;

Facilitate the use of instructional technology;

 

Develop students' character and sense of community in the classroom;

 

Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust;

 

Support classroom teachers by facilitating intervention strategies;

 

Facilitating daily communication with students, parents, and teachers; Performs other duties as assigned;

 

Qualifications:

 

Good written and verbal communication skills; Basic computer skills to facilitate online learning;

 

Time management and behavior management skills; Ability to instruct students;

 

Ability to manage student behavior;

 

Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the campus environment; Believes and is committed to our mission and being an agent of change;

 

Experience in navigating or facilitating online teaching and learning; Ability to adjust to new job responsibilities, as assigned;

 

Requirements:

 

Must have some college credits, Bachelor’s Degree, and/or equivalence of two or more years of relevant experience;

 

Must have two years of demonstrated experience working with students;

 

Must be able to attend scheduled trainings, which may include weekends; Must be able to pass a background check and fingerprinting. (There will be an associated fingerprint fee pending offer of employment)

Job Details:

 

Days: Monday – Thursday

 

Hours: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM

 

Salary: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour based on education and experience.

 

Duration: November 2021 through May 2022
