Responsible for scheduling and performing all facets of the campus landscape/grounds maintenance to provide students, staff/faculty, and visitors with a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment. Provides effective supervision of the groundskeeping staff and is responsible for maintaining the campus’s landscaping short and long-term strategic maintenance/growth plan. Accountable for maintaining campus turf, including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and pesticide application. Responsible for landscape bed care, including pruning, weeding, watering, and rehabilitation. Responsible for the care and maintenance of campus trees, including pruning, trimming, and removal. Proficiently operates a variety of power equipment and associated tools. Proficiency with typical computer software such as Microsoft Office programs is required. A relatively high level of analytical ability is needed to effectively identify and mitigate weed, insect, and disease issues, adequately install plant material, schedule watering programming, and quarterly pesticide/fertilizer applications. Additionally, this position is integral to campus snow and ice removal operations and scheduling. Will perform all duties in accordance with the College policies/procedures and the State/Federal/Local pesticide and irrigation requirements.
