Facilities Engineer

JOB TYPE: W2, full time, on-going contract

LOCATION: Waterloo, IA

JOB SUMMARY FOR Facilities Engineer:

The primary responsibility for this position is to provide overall project management services and engineering solutions as related to facility changes and improvements at manufacturing facilities. Experience with Manufacturing Engineering or Maintenance is recommended. Cross function experience in other areas, such as Supply Management, Quality, Environment, or Safety is desirable.

Primarily 1st shift position, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Possible weekend overtime work, depending on needs. There could be a need to work some second shift hours based on projects (less than 20%).

$43.91/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR Facilities Engineer:

Work with non-mobile material handling equipment application, engineering, and installation

Machine tool and process equipment layout and installation

Coordination, planning, and management of multi-discipline projects

Consulting and coordination towards dynamic factory master planning efforts

JOB EXPERIENCE FOR Facilities Engineer:

Civil Engineering degrees with Construction Management emphasis or Mechanical Engineering degree with Manufacturing emphasis

SKILL REQUIREMENTS FOR Facilities Engineer:

Experience in project management

Cross competency experience with either Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, and/or Maintenance Engineering

Experience in coordinating multiple skilled trades and contractors to achieve project objectives (5+ years)

Background in building infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, structural) (3+ years)

Understanding of engineering principles as related to manufacturing operations (3+ years)

Working knowledge of non-mobile material handling systems (cranes, jibs, monorails, conveyors)

Good communication and teamwork skills

Ability to prioritize multiple active projects simultaneously

Ability to work with personnel and middle management to communicate and coordinate project activities. Capability to create and deliver presentations of projects and process subjects

Skill in using computer-aided design and/or engineering tools

Knowledge of OSHA Safety standards

Experience working in an Union environment
