The internship program at Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations is intended to provide college / university students and recent graduates the opportunity to use and develop skills they have learned in the classroom by working at our state-of-the-art production facility, and to provide Volkswagen Chattanooga the opportunity to develop talent for potential future entry-level positions.

Summary

Our internships are full-time positions (40 hours/week). Candidates will be expected to be available to work during normal business hours (Monday – Friday; exact hours will vary by position and some positions might require work on Saturdays). To be eligible for the internship program, candidates are required to be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary educational institution or have graduated from one within the 6 months prior to the start date of the internship . Candidates who do not meet our guideline will not be considered. This position will start in May and end in August 2024 with a chance for extension through December 2024. Applications for later terms will not be accepted at this time.

 

Responsibilities

• Support on the root cause analysis of functional topics identified during the vehicle production via electronic data analysis from different automated processes/ equipment.
• Support in the implementation of countermeasures
• Perform functional evaluation and tests of cars according Technical Requirements Specifications
• Quality analysis: Perform reviews of incoming pre-series parts with support of the existing team
• Communication: Summarize findings to QA group with data collected to create follow-ups and KPIs.
• Process improvement: Implement process or product improvements based on findings

 

Qualifications

Education

Required: 2+ years towards an Engineering/Mathematics/Physics/Computer Science degree from an accredited University.

 

Specialized Skills
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving skills
• Python C++, or equivalent programming language
• Matlab, Mathematica, Lab View experience
• Dedicated professional attitude
• Automotive technical background
• CATIA design skills

 

Basic Knowledge
• Analytical and deductive skills – use evidence and facts to reach conclusions
• Systemic thinking – using logic and reason
• Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation, and written
• Technical capacity to analyze vehicle mechanisms
