We operate with a network of over 150 therapists throughout Michigan. Were thrilled to invite an exceptional Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in an exceptional subacute care facility. Our mission of this program is to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients through compassionate and effective rehabilitation services.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Assessment: Assist in conducting initial patient assessments by gathering information on the patients medical history and current physical condition.
2. Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the physical therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the patients needs and goals.
3. Implementation of Treatment: Administer therapeutic exercises manual therapy and other interventions as prescribed by the physical therapist.
4. Monitoring Progress: Regularly assess and document patient progress during treatment sessions reporting findings to the supervising physical therapist.
5. Educating Patients: Instruct patients and their families on prescribed exercises proper body mechanics and techniques to improve mobility and prevent further injuries.
6. Assistive Devices: Teach patients how to use assistive devices such as crutches canes and walkers and ensure proper fit and usage.
7. Modalities: Administer various physical therapy modalities such as heat cold ultrasound and electrical stimulation as part of the treatment plan.
8. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records including treatment plans progress notes and other relevant documentation.
9. Communication: Regularly Communicate with the physical therapist and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on patient progress and discuss any necessary modifications to the treatment plan.
10. Supportive Care: Provide emotional support to patients as they navigate the challenges of rehabilitation and recovery.
11. Safety Measures: Ensure a safe environment for therapy sessions including proper use of equipment and adherence to infection control protocols.
12. Continuing Education: Stay current with advances in physical therapy techniques and attend workshops or courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
