National Electrical Carbon Products, Inc. is a Morgan Advanced Materials manufacturing company in Greenville, SC. Our purpose is to use advanced materials to help make more efficient use of the world's resources and to improve the quality of life.
We are hiring for a 1st shift Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate will possess working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and welding, and will be a self-motivated team player.
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Properly troubleshoot, adjust and repair all production and material-handling equipment
- Perform all tasks and duties necessary for efficient start-ups, daily operation, change-over and shut-downs
- Perform preventative maintenance on and/or repair production machines, heating, cooling and steam systems, material-handling equipment, as well as plumbing, electrical and hydraulic/pneumatics equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair various electrical and mechanical systems
- Properly record preventative maintenance tasks
- Complete work orders as required
- Timely respond to maintenance calls on the production floor
- Assist in providing installation of new machinery
- Inventory spare parts and report usage; suggest re-order to maintenance lead
- Maintain neat and orderly work area, properly maintain tools
Job Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Current working knowledge of 480V, 3-phase electricity
- Experience in troubleshooting and reading electrical/mechanical schematics
- Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems and ability and knowledge of gauges and measurements.
- Possesses hydraulic & pneumatic repair experience
- Experience with programmable controllers (PLC’s) a plus
- Machining, welding, fabrication and millwright experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate with production operators and other maintenance technicians to be able to explain mechanical processes and root causes
- Strong focus on safety and quality
- Must be a self-starter and maintains a positive attitude
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating teamwork
- Good problem-solving abilities and result-oriented
- Lead by examples at all times (no safety violations, use proper PPE, show up to work on time)
- Must follow and abide by Company policies
- This position requires use of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
- Individual must be a Citizen of the United States, or Permanent resident alien of the United States, or Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) (22 CFR §120.15.)
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to walk, bend, pull and push without assistance (example: brace, cane)
- Capable of walking and standing for up to 8 hours per day
- Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
- Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel material
- Constant use of hand/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel or handle and manipulate parts and tools
- Constant requirement of specific vision abilities including close vision, distant vision, depth perception
- Constantly wear appropriate PPE including but not limited to eye and foot protection
- Ability to work around machinery and chemicals
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques and Company-provided equipment
