To excel as an Electrical Engineer at NICOR INC in the realm of Solid-State Lighting technology, candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience. Proficiency in engineering software like SolidWorks PCB, Eagle PCB, and PC Worx is mandatory, alongside strong lighting controls experience and a solid grasp of lighting fundamentals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in PCB design, LED arrays, and mathematical skills while showcasing a self-motivated attitude and a customer-centric approach.
Essential competencies include structured text, C, C++, and JavaScript programming, PLC programming to IEC 61131-3 standards, and familiarity with LED technology, power supply, heat sink thermodynamics, optics, and Solid-State Lighting components. Experience with DALI controls is required, with knowledge of BLE MESH, Wi-Fi systems, and low voltage development being advantageous. Proficiency in Modbus, BACNet protocols, familiarity with IoT solutions, and project management skills are vital, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different functions and geographies.
