Job description

Brock Canada is looking to hire a Junior Project Manager which involves reporting directly to VP, Operations / Operations Manager or General Manager on supporting and growing the business by providing job project management support for multiple service offerings and/or projects. Supports building the Brock brand by providing world class service quality to all stakeholders.

 

Essential Functions

· Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock’s Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business

· Responsible for project safety, quality, cost and schedule

· Ensure proper planning and scheduling of resources, monitoring, and taking corrective actions

· Is a champion for safety and regulatory compliance

· Assist in quoting and performing preliminary job walks for defined projects

· Responsible for the collection and ownership of complete project and site data

· Assist in resolving customer issues/discrepancies

· Identifies all operations aspects of the job including labour, equipment, consumables and materials along with any sub-contract requirements

· Work with Business Development and Estimating to transition the job from sales to operations utilizing the Healthy Start process

· Develop and implement project construction execution plan

· Audit ongoing operations and identifies opportunities for field efficiencies and standardization of methods to improve margins

· Support the development and implementation of a project Quality Control plan

· Follow Brock’s procurement process in support of vendor evaluations

· Collaborate with Regional Management and Project Controls to perform job tracking post mortem and lessons learned for continuous improvement

· Customer focus on relationship building

· Meet project deadlines

· Support and Lead Brock Internal Improvement Projects

· Support the management team as directed on day to day activities

· Support the VP and GM’s as requested

Working Conditions

· Working conditions include outdoor and indoor field, yard and shop locations

· Working indoors in an office environment in Nisku, AB

· Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment is necessary

· Frequent travel as required

· Ability to work within a highly service-oriented team culture

· Uses financial analysis to generate, evaluate, and act on strategic options and opportunities

· A high degree of technical ability to read/interpret engineering plans, product knowledge, etc

· Ability and willingness to seek out areas for improvement and solve problems

· Demonstrates courage to address difficult issues

· Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

· Proven communication and interpersonal skills, including strong leadership skills

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

· High energy level, a strong sense of ethics, discretion and adherence to process

· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word

· Ability to work with all levels of the Company

· Ability to meet deadlines and work independently

· Comfortable working in a hands-on environment

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 2+ years of related work experience

· Registered as an Engineer in Training with APEGA

· Project experience, desirable

· Experience with PowerBI, MS Project, VBA, and SQL is an asset

· PMP and PMI certification, or equivalent, desirable

· Supervisory experience with knowledge of employment practices
