Systems / Azure Cloud Engineer - Atlanta, GA
Enterprise oil services organization seeking a skilled and motivated Systems\Azure Engineer to join dynamic IT team. This will be a mostly remote but will be required to be onsite in Buckhead 1 day per week.
As a Server Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining On-Prem and Azure infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Microsoft Operating System and Azure, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong background in Virtualized Infrastructures.
Responsibilities:
Work with developers and end users of the infrastructure that has been setup.
Design, implement & maintain various infrastructure solutions.
Liaise with users of infrastructure when outages need to take place.
Ensure servers are on the latest security patch
Correctly decommission and remove infrastructure as needed
Correctly setup servers inline with infrastructure requests.
Ensure adequate logging and monitoring is set up for the various servers within the organization's environment.
Identify & troubleshoot server configuration and/or performance irregularities
Ensure entire infrastructure is properly monitored and alerts (regarding infrastructure interruptions and outages) are addressed in a timely and thorough manner
Provide technical direction and recommendations for infrastructure hardware/software and related technologies
Provide technical support to users by diagnosing and troubleshooting problems related to hardware, software, and other network and system performance; and documenting complex and troubleshooting procedures to help develop effective solutions
Monitor and ensure the company adheres to all system and information compliance requirements, processes and defined infrastructure and standards by staying current on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices
Work directly with vendor contacts to resolve technical problems affecting the delivery of applications and services and/or uptime related to software/application solutions, servers, SAN technology, storage, and peripheral equipment
Collaborate with other IT team members to support deployment of new applications and services
Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Escalation / on-call responsibilities
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, processes, and configurations
Azure Infrastructure Design, Deployment and support
Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure Azure cloud solutions
Develop infrastructure as code templates for automated deployment
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in server administration and maintenance
Strong knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization technologies
Experience with cloud computing, particularly Microsoft Azure
Knowledge of Microsoft software stack and key technologies (Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP)
Knowledge of Scripting languages such as PowerShell
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Microsoft certifications are a plus.
