- Full Time/Exempt
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Must be able to work flexible schedule, to be adjusted as necessary to meet program needs within 36 hours weekly or per week.

escription The Bridge is in search of an The EHV Advocate that will lead Harris County’s collaborative effort to determine the success of required additional long-term housing for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The EHV Advocate will assist survivors with obtaining and maintaining permanent housing, increase skills and/or income and achieve greater self-determination. The EHV Advocate will collect qualitative and quantitative data to support successful outcomes.
The EHV Advocate Review and understand EHV program regulations and data standards and educate program participants. Provide intensive case management services to link with and retain program participants in housing and other necessary services, including but not limited to primary care services, and to coordinate these services with other services provided to the program participants, including mobile advocacy.
Additionally, they will ensure children are enrolled in school and connected to the appropriate services within the community, including early childhood programs such as Head Start Part C. of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and McKinney-Vento education services. Provide assistance with locating safe, affordable housing. Ensure timely and accurate data entry of all needed metrics for reporting required, as well as timesheets. Provide transportation and transportation options as needed to assist program participants to achieve their goals and objectives. Act as a liaison between property owner and program participants. Document all case notes including accomplishments and challenges. Provide a crisis resources map near housing units and instructions/modeling how to utilize the United Way 211 Helpline for additional resources.
Prepare and submit monthly rent rolls, invoices and other pertinent documents to Finance Department monthly no later than the 5th of the succeeding month (per 5.1 on HCDVCC Agreement). Complete monthly report indicating program participant outcomes. Staffing program participants’ progress and update with Outreach Advocacy Director on a monthly basis. Attend meetings and trainings as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications - Contract position end date: 03/31/2024; does not provide for any health insurance or personal time off.
- Must provide IRS Form W9 and assume responsibility for personal reporting of all income taxes during contract period.
- GED/High School Diploma or Associates Degree.
- Minimum of two years’ experience managing low income housing and/or transitional housing.
Other Requirements - Must pass criminal background investigation check
- Must pass drug screen
- Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
- Must provide and maintain clean driving record and biennually update driving record
- Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
