Job Title: ALUMNI EXTERNAL REL SPEC 4 (Director of Corporate Relations) The Development and External Relations team at UC Davis College of Engineering, Ranked #16 out of all public engineering programs (US News & World Report 2022), is hiring an experienced relationship professional to contribute to increasing private support and working with corporate partners to support the College’s goals. UC Davis is a global leader in sustainability-related research and instruction, applied technology, and transformative projects and programs that advance knowledge and serve as models for the world. Reporting to the External Relations Manager for the Development and External Relations team in the College of Engineering, the Director of Corporate Relations is responsible for increasing engagement with the College of Engineering’s corporate partners. The position will work with a high degree of autonomy and through collaborating with engineering faculty and senior leaders as well as with colleagues throughout the division of Development and Alumni Relations, to build, refine, enhance and sustain corporate partnerships. The Director of Corporate Relations will provide leadership and oversight of projects that emerge from corporate engagement, ensuring timelines and objectives are met. The position builds positive, strategic relationships with college and campus partners to advance the College of Engineering, while providing the highest level of support and customer service. The position also designs and executes complex meetings and events to facilitate sponsored and philanthropic investment. 4-WEEK RECRUITMENT PERIOD: Applicants will be screened on a weekly basis. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education/Experience: ·Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. ·Minimum of 4 years of professional or volunteer fundraising experience; or equivalent transferable professional experience including strategic relationship management preferably in higher education or science-based non-profit. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA): ·Excellent interpersonal communications and critical thinking skills to build and maintain collaborative working relationships at all organizational levels and with a diverse group of donors, outside constituencies, and other campus units. ·Knowledge of the principles, trends and best practices in philanthropy, corporate partnerships and/or sponsorship. ·Writing, editing and proofreading skills to produce information that is compelling and effective. ·Ability to research technology, trends, companies to develop annual plans and implement relevant strategies and tactics. ·Time management and prioritization skills to provide executive level support and excellent attention to detail. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA): ·An interest in engineering, technology, science or related field. ·Thorough working knowledge of the campus, including its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements, and infrastructure. ·Thorough knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc. Strong professional ethics, discretion, and judgement. ·Thorough analytical and critical thinking skills, including skill in creative and effective decision-making and problem identification/avoidance/resolution. ·Demonstrated value for a diverse and safe workforce and a commitment to achieve this goal through collaboration and team building, working cooperatively with a diverse group of department and campus constituencies. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS This position is a critical position and subject to a background check.
