Position Summary

Caribou Thunder is seeking a dedicated Finance Administrator to join our team and support an office providing financial transactional support across the Washington metro area. This role involves consolidating and standardizing financial transactions for government partners and primarily focuses on voucher, travel, and accounting software. The Finance Administrator will play a vital role in maintaining efficient financial operations and supporting the office's mission. Your knowledge of accounting procedures, and proficiency in financial software will contribute to the success of our organization.

  • Provide prompt and attentive service to customers, addressing queries and offering guidance on accounting procedures and policies.
  • Obligate and audit claimant reimbursements and advance requests in compliance with established protocols.
  • Prepare a high volume of travel and procurement vouchers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
  • Establish obligations for various activities, such as approved training courses, travel, and procurements, following established procedures.
  • Audit miscellaneous reimbursement claims in support of approved activities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain a prompt voucher turn-around-time of 48-72 hours, depending on the complexity and responsiveness of the customer.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  • Follow established workflows and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Keep updated on relevant policies, regulations, and procedures related to financial processing and records management.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience performing financial records processing and financial records management.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Proficiency in using voucher, travel, and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and policies.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in working with government financial systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with government voucher and travel regulations.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in voucher, travel, and accounting software.
  • Experience with high-volume voucher processing.
  • Professional certifications in finance or accounting.
