Job description
Peraton is looking to fill Junior-level Business Development Operations role within the Space and Intelligence Sector Growth Team. The Business Development Operations role is an integral part of Sector Growth team responsible for working closely with the core growth and execution team members to facilitate growth activities across the sector. The BD Ops role manages RFI responses, positioning white papers, account-led and sub deals as well as works across the sector to support other growth activities that make the best use of resources that meet the needs of the business. Success in this role is ultimately measured by meeting and exceeding acquisition and financial targets aligned to company goals.
100% remote. Must be willing to travel up to 50%, if not local to the Herndon/Reston/Chantilly area.
Responsibilities
- Assist in development and execution of winning strategies for opportunities under <$25M, including strategic win themes, marketing campaigns and call plans, customer analysis, competitive analysis, solution and gap analysis, and the recruiting and selection of teaming partners within the Intelligence space.
- Work collaboratively with the core growth and execution team members to facilitate on-contract growth activities.
- Assist/lead teams to develop and deliver various professional services solutions to include whitepapers, demonstrations, proposals, and other internally developed products used to identify, qualify, and capture new business.
- Assist in the development of a winning offer and solution sets (e.g., technical/management, price-to-win, schedule, past performance)
- Develop understanding of the Capture lifecycle, associated milestones, processes including capture plan development, strategy execution and related actions.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the bid, and keep leadership advised when new bid risks are encountered, or mitigation plans fail to achieve desired results.
- Manage communications and relationships with partners and subcontractors, coordinating customer communications and relationships with Sector Growth Team.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years DoD, IC, or other government agency experience.
- Strong analytical as well as verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to obtain security clearance (Top Secret or higher preferred).

- Active TS/SCI
- Excellent business acumen; strong understanding of Federal procurement, contracting, and financial rules and regulations.
- Direct experience working for DOD or IC customers.
- Extremely high level of communication skills to present, inform, and persuade high level internal.
- Demonstrated capacity to stay on top of current trends, issues, and technologies in mission areas through participation in industry groups and conferences.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
*Education/Minimum Experience Requirement equivalency: BS 2, MS 1; Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
