General Summary

The School of Information Security & Applied Computing (SISAC) in the Game Above College of Engineering and Technology at Eastern Michigan University invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer positions in Information Technology and Cyber Security.  

SISAC, as a designated Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance & Cyber Defense (IACD) Education by the National Security Agency, offers undergraduate degree programs in IACD and Information Technology (IT) and a Master's degree in Cyber Security as well as a doctoral degree in Technology with a concentration in Cyber Security. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses that fulfill the SISAC curriculum goals and objectives; develop and maintain curriculum supporting the mission of the school, the university, and the community. 

Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.

Perform related departmental duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Master's Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field;  Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours completed in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field

· Industry or teaching experience in IT/Cybersecurity

· The successful candidate must have effective communication skills and a desire to engage in excellent teaching with evidence, demonstrated ability, or potential to deliver high-quality instruction in Information Security, Information Technology, and Applied Computing disciplines. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to the candidate who has experience in one or more of the following areas: 

· Computer Networking

· Operating Systems (Linux and MacOS, Windows, Mobile OS)

· Database Management & Administration (Access, SQL)

· Web Design & Development (HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript)

· Human-Computer Interaction

· Security Policy development, Security Compliance, and Regulation

· Security Project Management

· Cybersecurity Fundamentals

· Risk and Vulnerability Analysis

· Incident Response and Disaster Recovery

· Programming (Python)

· Cryptography

· Digital Forensics

· Network Forensics

· Ethical Hacking and Penetration Test

· Software Assurance

· Virtualization, Cloud Computing, and Security

· IT Audit

· Internet of Things (IoT) Development and Security 

· Wireless, Mobile Security

· Embedded Systems Security 

· Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Security  

· Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning 

Special Instructions:

This is a part-time position with competitive compensation. The selected candidate will be in the SISAC adjunct pool for semester-based teaching as needed.
