Who We Are:

The New Orleans JCC is a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool, a leader in New Orleans early childhood education, a fun-filled summer day camp and so much more. It is a place for adults to take an exercise class, an art class or dance class. A place for children and teens to experience learning through enrichment classes, sports leagues, family activities, and summer camps. The JCC is built on Jewish values, but is welcome to everyone.

The mission of the New Orleans Jewish Community Center is to promote and ensure the well-being of our Jewish community and to instill an understanding of Judaism and its heritage by providing a Center where all can enjoy, learn, experience and share in quality activities in a Jewish environment.

We are seeking seasonal Lifeguards to join our team at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center for our upcoming 2024 Summer Camp Program.  As a Lifeguard, your primary responsibilities will be ensuring the safety of all patrons at the pool.

 

What You'll Do:

Responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons at the pools.

• Must evaluate and resolve emergency situations.
• Must conduct safety checks, check and record chemical levels and help maintain the cleanliness of pool areas.
• Must perform appropriate rescues and perform first aid when necessary.
• Must report and document all injuries and rescues to the Aquatics Director.
• Must be able to operate a handicap lift at any time.
• Must attend and participate in mandatory bi-weekly staff meetings.
• Must be professional and alert at all times.
• Must be able to implement and enforce the Test, Mark & Protect policy.
• Must be Rescue Ready.
• Must be on time for scheduled shifts.
