Our client is a well-established mechanical contracting firm situated in Norcross, Georgia, that specializes in commercial and industrial HVAC. With a revenue of over $100 million and approximately 150 workers, we are on course to quadruple our size in three years. As a result, we're searching for some creative additions to our Accounting team. The Construction Accounting Associate will be in charge of handling all financial elements of assigned construction projects, including billing, collections, and paperwork. In addition, they will spend some time processing vendor bills for payment. THis position necessitates a high degree of organization, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask successfully. The ideal applicant will have prior experience in construction administration or a similar industry, as well as a full grasp of construction procedures and paperwork.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the project team to identify and resolve administrative concerns or inconsistencies.
- Manage administrative activities associated with building projects, including document control, communication, and record-keeping.
- Assist with the Accounts Payable process, which includes vendor invoice processing, payment approvals, and reconciliations.
- Review contracts for timing, payment application, and waiver criteria, including billing due dates.
- Prepare an open job report for project managers to track billing requirements.
- Invoice general contractors using various billing platforms based on project management or client specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors and customers to develop and process lien waivers.
- Manage the money collecting procedure.
- Other Accounting duties as needed
- Coordinate with project managers and general contractors to guarantee the timely and accurate completion of the essential paperwork and documentation.
Requirements:
- Proficient in utilizing Excel and construction management software (experience with SamPro Data Basics or Trimble Vista is a great bonus).
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, including the ability to prioritize projects and fulfill deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision at work
- Ability to operate both alone and collaboratively as part of a team.
- 3 5 years of experience in construction administration or a similar administrative job within the construction sector is desired.
- A college degree in accounting or a similar discipline is desired, although extra job experience will be considered instead.
- Capability to manage many projects concurrently.
- Strong written and vocal communication abilities, as well as the ability to connect successfully with diverse stakeholders.
