Job description
A manufacturing organization is seeking to hire an Accounting Manager. This role will be handling the GL with reconciliations, month-end close, and some fixed asset work. Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring a team in this seat. The ideal candidate has previous mentorship experience and has used NetSuite or a similar ERP.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Manage and supervise a team of accounting professionals
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Interpret financial reports and provide analysis to management
- Develop and implement financial management policies and procedures
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Monitor and analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for improvement
- Coordinate and manage the annual budgeting process
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance (Masters degree preferred)
- CPA certification is highly desirable
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of financial report interpretation, financial management, and general ledger reconciliation
- Experience with governmental accounting, payroll, budgeting, corporate accounting, and accrual accounting
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
