SUMMARY:
The General Manager will lead, manage, and direct all operational and financial aspects of the job. Reporting to a District Manager/Regional Director, the ideal candidate is an individual with aviation security and passenger services work experience and excellent operational management skills, client relationship/interpersonal skills, human resources skills, financial management skills, analytical skills, and organizational skills. The General Manager will be enthusiastic about applying these skills towards innovative purposes to ensure ongoing improved performance and overall operational success for all clients. A high degree of seasoned judgment decision-making experience and confidentiality will be required of this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports directly to the District Manager/Regional Director on a day-to-day basis and communicates with the Corporate Office as needed or required.
- Overall supervision of all operations at the assigned airport and any other ancillary locations. This includes, as applicable per location, various passenger services inclusive of skycap services, guard services (aircraft, ramp, unclaimed baggage, vendor screening, and catering security) charter flight pre-board screening, and wheelchair passenger services as well as other services under the position's immediate responsibility.
- Maintain adequate staffing and scheduling to fulfill daily operation requirements as well as forecasting and staffing for future needs to ensure optimum operational performance and maximum allowable billings.
- Responsible for complete accuracy and timeliness of payroll records and pay system submissions as well as legally compliant and audit satisfactory personnel and training files.
- Responsible for achieving the Profit & Loss (P&L) goals of the annually approved budget. Oversee billing information and assist in the collection of delinquent accounts.
- Reports all unusual events and circumstances to the District Manager/Regional Director and Corporate office in real-time.
- Responsible for compliance with all local, state, and federal government regulations applicable to the operation; equally responsible for all Airline and policies and procedures enforcement.
- Liaison with client airlines, all airlines at the assigned airport, government employees, and employees of the airport authority.
- Conduct or monitor interviewing, selection, new hire processing, and training of all new employees of the airport authority.
- Ensure regular and timely communication of new security directives, policies, and procedures, so as to maintain a constant flow of meaningful information to employees, clients, district manager/regional director, and HUSA corporate staff.
- Demonstrates professional diplomacy and problem-solving skills.
- Manager all matters related to labor union(s)/collective bargaining agreement for the site as applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
**Airport/Airline Experience is required.
- Must be able to work overnight!
- High school diploma minimum: college degree preferred or relevant aviation operations (or related security, military, or other applicable client services) experience of at least two to five years, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent broad set of management skills (operational, finance, human resources administration, and, as applicable, technology) with the ability to work independently as a lead in a fast-paced and often fast-changing environment and industry.
- Prefer at least a working knowledge and skill set of a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must be able to successfully ensure continual attention to a wide range of details. establish and work priorities and meet all deadlines.
