Job description
Chanson Restaurant at the Royal Blues Hotel is seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager with a strong background in wine or credentials as a Sommelier. The ideal candidate will oversee the restaurant's daily operations while enhancing our wine program and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about fine dining, exceptional service, and world-class wines.
Key Responsibilities:
Restaurant Management:
- Oversee daily operations of Chanson Restaurant, ensuring high standards of service.
- Manage and schedule staff, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training and development opportunities.
Wine Program Leadership:
- Utilize expertise as a wine connoisseur or Sommelier to manage and develop the restaurant's wine list.
- Conduct wine tastings and staff training to enhance the team's wine knowledge.
- Organize wine-related events and promotions to enhance guest experience and drive revenue.
Guest Experience:
- Ensure exceptional dining experience for all guests with a focus on sophistication and high-quality service.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and a customer-focused approach.
Financial Management:
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning for the restaurant.
- Monitor and manage inventory, including wine procurement and cost control.
- Analyze sales and identify trends to improve profitability.
Networking:
- Network with local and industry communities to raise the profile of the restaurant.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to all safety, administrative, and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Certified Sommelier or equivalent wine expertise is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in a fine dining setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep knowledge and passion for wine, with the ability to create an engaging wine list.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software and POS systems.
- The ideal candidate will be someone with the experience as Assistant Restaurant Manager, or equivalent, looking to make a step up
