Job description
Due to a retirement and internal promotion, this non-automotive, stable manufacturer is hiring an Manufacturing Accountant ! The Manufacturing Accountant will report to the Controller, oversee two individuals and support the site accounting and finance activities. Daily activities will include:
- Completing the site closing process, including journal entries, fixed assets and cost analysis
- Supporting weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting
- Assisting with the annual budgeting process
- Completing financial analysis projects
- Assisting with cash flow analysis and inventory adjustments
- Updating standard cost based on market changes and adjusting in the ERP system
- Partnering with all facets of production, materials and engineering in order to ensure accurate product costing
- Partnering with the Controller to assist with P&L analysis
- Backing up the Controller on an as-needed basis
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualified candidates should have strong analytical skills, be able to build rapport and enjoy working within a team-oriented environment. Individuals should feel comfortable doing presentations in front of the leadership team.

Requirements for the Manufacturing Accountant: 1. Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Finance or Accounting
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar manufacturing accounting position
3. General knowledge of cost accounting processes
4. Experience contributing to the budgeting processes
5. Experience supporting month-end and year-end closing
6. Financial reporting experience
7. Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required: 1. Formalized Lean and/or Six Sigma training
2. Crystal reports
3. Paylocity or other payroll software
4. HR, benefits or 401K administration
5. Supervision experience
Candidates are preferred to be local to the Mansfield, Ohio area.
