We are seeking an
Electrical Engineering Intern to support the design and development of a variety of new and emerging technologies, taking ideas on paper, and creating products in hand within a short timeframe. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic, hands-on R&D setting where we iteratively improve and refine our solutions. We are seeking students who are currently pursuing a degree in STEM and are interested in gaining hands-on skills working on real-world applications.
Interns at Intellisense will contribute towards meaningful projects from day one. You will grow your skillsets, create lasting professional relationships, and assist in developing a wide range of cutting-edge technologies.
Intellisense’s 2024 Summer Internship Program: - 8-12 weeks in duration (on-site in Torrance)
- 32 hours a week Monday-Thursday
- Available from May/June through August/September
- Open to rising Sophomores through Graduate Students
- Social Activities with Interns and Employees
- Completion of a Capstone Project
Examples of Prior Summer Internship Projects: - Crafting cutting-edge PCB designs for Avionics Display systems.
- Creating engaging user interfaces and codes for innovative API development.
- Driving impactful process enhancements within our labs and operations.
What You’ll Do: - Assist the engineering staff with the design, development, and fabrication of electronic devices.
- Support senior engineering staff in development of PCBs and troubleshooting.
- Work in either product development or R&D on projects that have real impact on the company’s technology portfolio.
- Learn by doing, with guidance from highly experienced engineers who are experts in their respective fields.
- Work on technologies such as avionics display systems, environmental monitoring systems, and Emerging Technologies such as optical sensors, Radio Frequency signal processing, Augmented Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Create an End of Internship Deliverable/Capstone Project that serves as a culmination of your internship experience.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
What You’ll Bring: - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- Good understanding of basic electronics: the principles, methods, tools, and equipment used to test, measure, and troubleshoot.
- Ability to multi-task and seamlessly transition between different projects.
- Creativity and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written skills regarding technical subjects.
- Proficiency in PC software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
Nice To Haves: - Experience working in a laboratory.
- Familiarity with Altium and C/C++.
- Familiarity with PCB design (e.g., schematic capture and/or layout).
- Hobbies or independent projects which demonstrate technical aptitude.

Pay Range: $19.45/hour-$24.00/hour
However, base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
