Job description
Job Summary: Edge, a division of NEFCO Construction Supply, is a business-to-business supply distribution company that sells products primarily to commercial contractors, industrial businesses, municipalities, and government entities. Additionally, we have a rental department, repair center, customer training, and other professionally customizable services. We have developed a loyal clientele base. Edge is over 65 years old, privately held, and spans 5 states with 9 locations, headquartered in Spokane, Washington. We sell over 30,000 products from over 200 manufacturers, including: power tools, hand tools, safety equipment, abrasives, fasteners, hangers, strut, ladders and a variety of trade specific tools, equipment, & material handling products.
Job Duties:
- Rent and quote products to customers in person, on the phone and via email. Work with customers to make sure they are getting the right product for their application. Suggest alternatives and/or additional "add-on" items during the rental or sales process.
- Drive truck and trailer for rental deliveries
- Load and unload rental tools, scaffold and other rental items.
- Work with sales team when needed.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions for customers not on account.
- Work with computer system for order entry, quotes, and checking product availability/pricing.
- Answer phones and emails with proper business etiquette. Dress in business casual attire and maintain professional appearance.
- The job might require reading specifications and providing submittals on specified product.
- Could include pulling orders, climbing ladders, operating forklift, packaging product, lifting heavy items, working outside, and working indoors.
- Additional tasks include creating rental contracts and returning rental products.
- Perform other duties as requested by manager or supervisor.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 1 to 5 years of experience in related inside sales work is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of products and their application is very helpful.
- Knowledge of market pricing for our products is a plus.
- Experience in construction or industrial distribution business and their business methods is very helpful.
- Ability to quickly learn computer systems, software, and part numbers used in the sales process. Fluency in MS Office & MS Outlook is a plus. Familiarity with distribution sales/purchasing/inventory software is a plus.
- Ability to perform math calculations of multiplication, division, percentages and applying discounts is required. Experience calculating gross margin is helpful.
- Ability to take direction, work with others, and be self-motivated is important.
- Possess a positive, friendly & helpful attitude. Customer service & communication skills are required.
Physical Requirements:
- Detail oriented and ability to process large amounts of data is required.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. is occasionally needed.
