Would you like to have an important part in the continued growth of our Portuguese branch, and at the same time be part of an international organization? We are now looking for a controller to join our branch in Lisbon and be part of the accounting and financial reporting in this growing hub within the Nordea Asset Management family.

Welcome to NAM Finance. We add value by ensuring correct and timely financial reporting, a high data integrity and pro-active insight in the financial flows of our company as well as our deliveries towards stakeholders inside Nordea Asset Management and the Nordea Group. As a controller you’ll play a valuable role in ensuring that the financial information and performance of Nordeas two fast growing Portuguese branches is reported accurately and that key stakeholders can trust the information.

What you’ll be doing:

• Take part in the daily and monthly accounting activities
• Prepare and conduct payments
• Preparation of financial reports
• Participate in the processes for annual accounts and audits
• Prepare marketing budget and follow-up
• Support other NAM entities, primarily Finance in Luxembourg, in the monthly financial reporting
• Assist in other ad-hoc tasks that occur in a finance department

You’ll join a team of 7 committed Finance colleagues in Oeiras but you will be part of a big Finance team located in several other locations, mainly in the Nordics and Luxembourg. The teams have different backgrounds, areas of competence and experiences and will provide support and facilitating knowledge sharing and development in your daily work. The role is based in Oeiras.

Your experience and background: 

• A relevant degree in accounting, finance, business administration or similar
• A minimum of 4 years of accounting or controller experience
• It will be considered a plus to be certified accountant
• Solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Experience working with accounting software (e.g. Business Central)
• Good knowledge of general ledger functions and the month and year-end close process
• Knowledge of local tax laws
• Professional spoken and written English skills
• Experience from international companies preferred
• Financial sector experience preferred but not required
