Job description
The Arc of Evansville is currently hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist! This new position will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and is responsible for managing the quality assurance and quality improvement program at The Arc of Evansville. The Quality Assurance Specialist will collect data, maintain data integrity, and use the data to inform both current and new quality supports and services while developing standards and processes necessary to meet the expectations of both regulatory bodies and the people being supported by the organization.

Job Duties:
- Creates annual satisfaction survey for individuals receiving support.
- Surveys and collects results from annual satisfaction survey.
- Completes the annual National Core Indicators survey.
- Completes the annual State of the Workforce (staff stability) survey.
- Works with the Chief Human Resources Officer and other senior staff members to determine objectives for the business function performance indicators and will track progress made towards those objectives. Will report results at least on an annual basis.
- Will assess the appropriateness and the effectiveness of each outcome included in the Individual's Individualized Support Plan (ISP).
- Management of the quality improvement plan.
- Creates and implements a communication plan for quality improvement activities and processes, including how updates will be communicated to all staff on a regular basis.
- Completes quarterly file audits for individuals served.
- Reports results of quarterly file audits for individuals served to the Chief Human Resources Officer and the Chief Programs Officer.
- Completes quarterly employee file audits.
- Tracks down missing documentation from employee files.
- Tracks and analyzes data associated with reportable incidents.
- Will lead the safety committee.
- Will work with the safety committee to develop and implement a risk reduction plan to minimize the potential for similar future incidents.
- Reports incident trends to the Chief Human Resources Officer and the Chief Programs Officer.
- Tracks and analyzes data associated with medication administration errors.
- Develops and implements a risk reduction plan to mitigate or eliminate future medication errors.
- Reports medication error trends to the Chief Human Resources Officer and the Chief Programs Officer.
- Works with Behavioral Support Specialist in tracking targeted behavior data.
- Completes internal audits on a regular basis. Internal audits to be conducted will focus on billing accuracy, data entry corrections, employee time audits, service delivery audits, etc.
- Completes annual MVR and background checks for employees.
- Completes monthly audit of staff training/required licenses/certifications.
- Reviews ISO policies/procedures and conducts audits as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Good computer, oral, and written communication skills.
- Must have good to excellent attention to detail.
- Must have strong analytical thinking skills.
- Must be able to interpret data.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Knowledge of quality standards.
- Must display a respectful, compassionate, and positive attitude toward people supported, visitors, and employees.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalent required.
- Completion of post-secondary education is preferred in a healthcare related degree program such as a degree in Health Information Management, Health and Human Services, or Healthcare Administration.
- One to three years related experience and/or training.
- Completes training as required by agency and funding sources.
- Completes First Aid and CPR training initially upon hire.
- Completes certifications for crisis intervention MANDT training initially at hire.
