Job Description
The Education and Event Manager is responsible for the overall management and planning of several state specialty society annual meetings and supporting some components of the OSMA annual meeting. In addition, the Manager is responsible for directing and maintaining OSMA as an accredited provider of continuing medical education (CME) by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
Responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the planning and implementation aspects of OSMA education offerings to physicians and practice staff.
- Working with the OSMA’s practice management educational consultant, speakers, and other staff on the event details.
- Managing all logistics, meeting accommodations, contracts, registration, promotions, evaluation, in-person meeting details (space, food, AV, rooming lists, etc.), Zoom webinar management and more.
- Working with hotel to secure contract for space and accommodations.
- Securing exhibitors and sponsors if appropriate.
- Partnering with marketing team to prepare program and promotional materials.
- Developing pricing strategies and ensuring payment of event related invoices.
- Managing contracts with speakers and securing exhibitors and sponsors.
- Working with OSMA CEO, other staff and education consultants to identify educational opportunities and details.
- Managing the OSMA CME accredited provider program.
- Works collaboratively with external entities in a jointly provided relationship in accordance with ACCME accreditation requirements including identifying and recruiting new partners and developing pricing strategies.
- Assists in applying for any additional CEU credits needed (i.e., AAPC)
Qualifications
Qualifications
:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university equivalent years related experience and/or training or combination of in related field.
- Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) and knowledge of AMA PRA and ACCME accreditation and reporting criteria highly desired.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with webinar platforms.
- Experience with Trello or similar project management system and membership database preferred.
- Occasional in-person weekends are required for specialty events and the OSMA annual meeting. Will also require periodic evening virtual meetings/or conference calls with physicians and other staff for planning purposes .
