The Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences (Harriot College, ) employs approximately 450 full-time faculty and staff, and the Dean’s Office oversees all budget, personnel and academic matters in its departments, interdisciplinary programs, centers, institutes, and auxiliary offices. Harriot College is home to 16 academic departments and offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Job Duties :This is a 12-month faculty position within a Harriot College department with 0.49-1.00 FTE reassigned time to the Office of the Dean.
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP The Associate Dean for Research (ADR) will be a collaborative leader who will facilitate and promote research and creative activity endeavors of the scholars in Harriot College in alignment with the university’s mission, especially by securing and leveraging extramural funding. The ADR will report directly to the dean on their performance of duties to support scholarly excellence, including but not limited to:Ph.D. or terminal degree as appropriate based on the discipline in a field included in or aligned with the liberal arts and sciences, and a successful history of research or creative activity with appropriate publication, recognition and support that would be commensurate with the rank of full professor in a Harriot College department, as reviewed by the appropriate personnel committee.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education : Candidates are required to submit a CV/resume, cover letter, list of references, and a 2-page leadership and vision statement incorporating administration and research approaches.
