About the opportunity

SWCA is seeking a Program Management Intern - Renewable Energy and Transmission for Summer 2024 to support renewable energy, transmission, and natural resources projects out of our Denver/ Fort Collins, CO offices. SWCA's program management internship will provide the opportunity to develop a better understanding of the environmental consulting profession within SWCA's Program Management Team.

This internship will be office-based work, performing project coordinator tasks with an exposure to a diversity of renewable energy and transmission projects. You will receive a preview of different aspects of environmental consulting such as client relationships, environmental analysis, GIS, report writing, and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. You will learn how SWCA advises clients on state and regulatory issues for projects across the company's service area, as well as gain exposure to problem solving scenarios that contribute to project success.

The Program Management Intern demonstrates an interest in environmental consulting, a good attitude, willingness to learn, flexibility, high attention to detail, organization, and good communication skills. The Program Management Intern position provides great opportunities to enter and launch a career in environmental sciences, supported by leadership focused on the professional development of team members.

This internship will occur during the summer 2024 (June - August). Candidates who can start earlier than June 2024 will be considered and those who can remain past August may provide additional value. In addition to project work, the internship program includes regularly scheduled learning presentations by SWCA leaders.

This is a paid, full-time internship. Interns will be paid $17.85 in the Colorado area.
