Job description
Our client’s dynamic team is seeking a talented Controls Engineer to drive innovation and excellence in their technological landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft equipment standards and specifications to ensure optimal performance.
- Foster collaborative relationships with our parent companies to establish and maintain equipment best practices.
- Identify and cultivate new equipment sources to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Actively explore cutting-edge technologies and industry processes to remain competitive.
- Cultivate and enhance the expertise of the Project Engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with plant teams to bolster maintenance skills and expertise.
- Spearhead projects across all UGN facilities, from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with each facility to coordinate project funding and justification.
- Execute approved projects, including equipment procurement and installation.
- Manage equipment orders and installations, leveraging both contractors and plant personnel.
Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Accumulate a minimum of four years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exhibit a high level of technical proficiency.
- Preferred experience in PLC programming (Allen Bradley), Rockwell Software RS Logix 500, 5000, and RSView Studio.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for conveying technical information, both written and oral.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Capability to lead or participate in cross-functional groups.
- Ability to respond efficiently to inquiries or complaints.
- Experience with machine automation in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred expertise in robotic programming, especially FANUC.
- Experience with servo drives and HMI integration is essential.
- Automotive industry experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) certification are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel up to 60%.
