About the Job:
We're seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper who will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' accounting needs. You will be responsible for managing accounting transactions, maintaining accurate books, processing payroll, producing consistent and accurate financial reports, and answering client accounting questions.
Why we need you!
- Act as the main point of contact for designated clients and assist with all bookkeeping needs
- Perform reconciliations of bank statements and credit card transactions in clients' accounting system to maintain accuracy and completeness
- Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and commission reports on a regular basis
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of ongoing client payroll and produce year end reports
- Perform parts of the financial close process for business clients ensuring deadlines are achieved while also focusing on accuracy
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and GAAP
- Build and maintain process checklists and job aides
- Participate in various projects as needed to ensure processes are up to date for the team and the clients
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping
- High level of proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Familiarity with additional accounting and payroll software such as Xero, Gusto, ADP, or Stripe strongly preferred)
- Excellent communication skills – able to interact with clients and team members regarding projects, deadlines and statuses
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and work at a fast pace to meet critical deadlines
- Extremely organized and close attention to detail
