Job Description:

The Residential Life Director exists to lead, direct, and manage campus housing across the entire university. This includes all aspects of Minnesota State University's residential life program encompassing five building complexes (four owned and one master-leased), 3000 students, and a budget in excess of $27M. The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing the residential life staff.

The incumbent will provide a living and learning environment that supports the academic and personal development and success of students, providing leadership and direction of administrative functions including short and long-range financial planning and routine budget management, providing leadership and direction for facilities functions including repair, maintenance and new construction, providing leadership and direction for staff hiring, training and supervision, and serving as meal plan liaison to the university's food service provider. Additionally, the director collaborates with other departments within the Division of Student Affairs and the University and represents the department to external constituencies.

The incumbent will provide expertise and consultation to resolve complex issues. Additionally, the incumbent will provide training and development expertise and consultation surrounding leading practices to be infused within all housing operations.
