Job description
SUMMARY
Manufacturing Engineer under minimal supervision, assists in planning and designing manufacturing processes for a production facility. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization. Determines the tools, parts and equipment needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Reports to Manufacturing manager.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Create and maintain SOP’s for all cell manufacturing processes in the assembly lab.
- Participate and determine Test Capabilities, Inspection Methods in conjunction with Quality/ Process Engineering.
- Manage line changeovers for all cell manufacturing lines from start to finish and work to continually improve efficiency.
- Yield tracking, reporting and improvement.
- Assist with preventative maintenance, including scheduling, for all equipment in the assembly lab.
- MBOM creation, management and takt times.
- Demand Planning
- Develop/ monitor a process improvement & SPC program (continuous project) for each of the specified Characteristics identified. Use of Control Plans, Gage R & R’s, and other statistical techniques.
- Work closely with quality and process engineers to improve quality outcomes, and develop process improvements.
- Analyze metrics and participate in troubleshooting efforts to solve manufacturing problems.
- Act as a resource for design and experiment capability studies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements, and other Company Policies.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of lithium battery and/or Battery industry
- 3 -5 years of experience in Manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Root Cause Analysis
- Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrated planning, problem solving, data analysis.
- Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills with proven leadership skills and decision-making abilities.
- Resourceful, strong attention to detail, hands on skills.
Education and Experience:
- BS in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the manufacturing environment
- Lean Manufacturing (Preferred)
- Six Sigma Certification (Preferred)
