Job Summary
The Machine Shop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, including the safety and efficiency of the staff, equipment, and processes. The Shop Supervisor will work closely with the Plant Manager and other staff to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and that production runs smoothly. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to motivate and manage personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the shop staff and equipment, ensuring that all operations are being carried out in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
- Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines
- Set up and operate CNC machines
- Ensure that production is running efficiently and that all materials and products meet quality standards
- Train and supervise shop staff, providing guidance and feedback as needed
- Monitor the progress of projects and ensure that deadlines are met
- Implement new processes and procedures as needed
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of operations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4-6 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to motivate and manage personnel
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
- Knowledge of shop equipment and tools
