Job Summary

* Under moderate supervision, the MRI Technologist is responsible for diagnostic MRI imaging and/or radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
* Will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative in applying technical imaging factors and anatomical positions.
* The MRI Technologist will demonstrate a professional approach in his/her work, with emphasis on patient care, while still maintaining patient safety. Be responsive in the need to use proper radiation and MRI safety principles, both for the safety of the patient as well as themselves and co-workers.

Qualifications

* Minimum of Associate degree or equivalent required. Graduate from an approved and accredited radiology educational program or its equivalent required. Graduate from an ARMRIT accredited MRI program with at least 1,000 hours documented MRI clinical training or graduate from a non-ARMRIT accredited MRI program with at least 2,000 hours of documented MRI clinical training. Registration by the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT). Being an ACR Accredited facility, MRI certification is required. CT scanning or diagnostic radiology experience is highly preferred. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required.
