Job description

Job Purpose:

The Department's OIT is seeking the services of experienced Quality Assurance Analyst. The Candidates will be required to successfully complete tasks in relation to the Scope of Work.

Primary Job Duties/Tasks:

Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications.

Participate in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation, and executing these tests.

Define and track QA metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status.

Collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and improvements and integrate the improvements into business processes.

Document all identified problems and assist in the resolution.

Deliver quality process training to technical staff and act as an internal quality consultant to advise business or technical partners.

Perform quality audits across various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are being followed.

Create a wide variety of technical publications, including instructional materials, technical manuals, and product documentation for use by both the IT and business community.

Maintain all project artifacts and other documentation as necessary in accordance with standards to ensure compliance and QA.

Serve as a liaison with users to understand and translate their needs into QA strategies.

Follow a standard set of practices that ensure the integrity and quality of project artifacts.

Manage expectations of diverse stakeholders and provide regular briefings to executives on quality issues and outcomes.

Work independently and as part of a larger cross-functional team to ensure quality is maintained

throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Assist with project coordination, support, and documentation to maintain continuous quality improvement.

About the Candidate:

Qualifications

A bachelor s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience is required.


Required Experience

1. Demonstrated experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, and methodology development.

2. Ability to document user stories and write business IT system requirements.

3. Experience coordinating business users, technical staff, and architects to analyze and define future needs and operations based on use cases and analysis of alternatives.

4. In-depth knowledge of business process design and re-engineering.

5. Ability to coordinate project teams and effectively conduct initiatives to meet overall objectives.

6. Experience communicating and working within cross-departmental teams while displaying strong collaborative skills.

7. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel.

8. Experience preparing status reports and providing management briefings.

9. Strong leadership, negotiation, organizational, and project management skills.

10. Excellent verbal and written communication and editing skills.

11. Experience with meeting facilitation and documentation.

12. Proficiency in various programming languages, such as Java, Python, or C#, depending on the technology stack of the company.

13. Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban).

14. Experience with software QA tools and processes, including automated testing tools like Selenium.

Preferred Qualifications

The submitted candidate must be able to apply common knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

1. Certification in QA from a recognized body, such as the American Society for Quality (ASQ).

2. Certifications like the Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or the Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) are highly desirable.

3. Proficiency in QA tools, such as Selenium, Hewlett Packard (HP) Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and JMeter.

4. Experience working on state or federal government projects with an understanding of the specific

quality standards and regulations required.

5. Experience collaborating with software development teams to identify system issues and solutions.

6. An analytical mindset with the initiative to solve complex problems with a proactive approach to QA.

7. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.

8. Knowledge of IT standards, QA best practices, and security protocols, particularly in sensitive industries such as criminal justice.

9. An energetic and team-oriented attitude with a diligent work ethic.

10. Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize

activities.
