The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike.  Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

 

HJF is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to perform laboratory procedures to assist supervisors within various pathology activities, including but not limited to receipt and accessioning of specimens, preparation of tissue for analysis and storage/cataloguing of tissue and data. Provides additional support in various areas of a laboratory as needed. Complies with laboratory quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) plans and procedures.

 

This position will be in support of Department of Defense/Uniformed Services University Brain Tissue Repository ( BTR ). Their mission is to better understand the effects of traumatic brain injury and promote overall brain health of the warfighter. Using the best science, they support our service members and their families to help care for our military personnel after a head injury.

 

**This role may require after-hours scheduling or weekend hours to accommodate laboratory needs.**

 

Note: This work site requires that Non-US Citizen incumbents have lived in the US three out of the past five years.

Security Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.
