Vessel / Boat Diesel & Gas Mechanic
LOCATION:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Vessel / Boat Diesel & Gas Mechanic is expected to advance the company safety, performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through the availability of properly maintained vessels/vehicles.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To ensure that vessel/vehicle maintenance is effectively managed in the most cost-effective manner to effectively support the customer experience.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vessel / Boat Diesel & Gas Mechanic -
- Ensure all vessels/vehicles in the fleet are effectively maintained in a proactive/preventative maintenance management program.
- Performs maintenance and repairs to vessels/vehicles; performs general maintenance and cleans vessel/vehicle/dock.
- Diagnose problems and provides repairs to light trucks, vessels, gas, and diesel engines.
- Monitor and maintain Vehicle/Vessel inventory levels and required resources.
- Responsible for managing the spare parts storage, consumables, maintenance, and repair processes related to vessels/vehicles and gas and diesel engines.
- Responsible for work safety and company policy within the warehouse and all assigned property.
- Supports vehicle/vessel maintenance and procurement budget and controlling costs associated with warehouse/property.
- Operates vehicle/vessel equipment and machineries such as forklifts, power tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic tools, welding tools, and any other associated equipment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Operational knowledge of vessels/vehicles (diesel and gas).
- Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical background on diesel and gas engines and equipment management.
- Minimum 5 years experience with hydraulics and electrical systems related to vessels/vehicles and various types of equipment.
- Ability to adapt to different projects daily, including times where projects include cleaning of vessels/vehicles.
- Excellent communication, written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong people skills capable of fostering a strong team environment.
- Detail-oriented and a self-starter.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Valid government-issued unrestricted driver’s license for vehicles, and ability to obtain security clearance card for entry into ports/terminals, etc.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
- Present a positive and professional image.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Certifications related to the service and repair of mechanical/hydraulic/electrical applications.
- High School Diploma, Management coursework
- Computer Literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce, Office 365, SharePoint)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Shall be able to exhibit a physical competency in handling moderate to heaving lifting and other strenuous activities associated with this position.
- Good health, physical stamina, fitness, and vitality.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Education :
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
- Mechanic experience: 5 years (Preferred)
- Automotive electrical systems: 3 years (Preferred)
- Hydraulics: 2 years (Preferred)
- Electrical wiring: 2 years (Preferred)
