We are a clean tech company that focuses on home energy management.

Due to demand and growth, we are looking for an HR Generalist to join our team. Seeking someone who has at least 3 years of human resources and payroll experience, ideally within the renewable energy and/or electricity/oil/utilities/power markets industry. If you have payroll, employee relations, benefits, onboarding, compliance, Gusto and/or Rippling experience, we want to talk to you!

What You Will Be Doing

Payroll Management:
Handle payroll utilizing ADP, Gusto, and Rippling.
Enter and update payroll on a daily basis, taking care of hiring, firing, and other related tasks.
Help with specific projects, payroll tax account registrations, and other payroll tax audits.
Engage with staff members by responding to their inquiries, outlining tax forms and pay stubs, and assisting them in completing tasks within the payroll/HR Information System (HRIS).

Human Resources:
Utilize HR skills to manage onboarding processes, address employee and client questions, and facilitate terminations.
Ensure smooth coordination of hiring and firing processes by integrating payroll and HR operations.
Retain HR expertise particular to California and stay current with employment rules in the state.
Provide knowledge of leave legislation and oversee the management of leave in various states.
Help create offer letters, policies and procedures, employee handbooks, and other HR papers as needed.

Benefits and Compliance:
Help ensure benefits compliance
Make sure payroll accurately deducts benefits from employees.
Provide benefits information to employees.

Employee Relations and Morale:
Occasionally address and offer advice on employee/client difficulties by drawing on your experience in generalist positions or employee relations.
Encourage staff morale by offering advice on work ethics, analytical abilities, and problem-solving techniques.
