Job description
Position Summary:
Participates in a collegial relationship with the physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Performs in an expanded role by providing care to head and neck surgical patients, which includes taking histories, making assessments, ordering lab tests, reviewing and reporting diagnostic lab values, conducting outpatient clinics and assisting physicians in the OR.
Minimum Education and Experience:
EDU EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE :
Graduated from a Physician Assistant Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( CAAHEP ). Certification from the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants ( NCCPA ). New Jersey License from the State Board of Medical Examiners-Physician Advisory Committee. In the case of a new graduate, they may be considered under the condition that he/she successfully takes and passes the Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and the New Jersey License examination from the State Board of Medical Examiners—Physician Assistant Advisory Committee on the first available date following his/her graduation. BLS is required. All requirements must be met prior to employment with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
