The Management Trainee Program provides comprehensive exposure to the banking and financial services industry, while offering a customized experience unique to each Management Trainee (MT), factoring in their particular interests and career goals. The rotational nature of the Management Trainee Program provides the opportunity to cultivate new relationships and engage with diverse teams, leaders, and departments throughout the organization. As a Commercial Management Trainee , you will explore all facets of the Commercial Banking line of business by gaining exposure to various business lines and supporting partners, learning more about the industry, and understanding how each area works together to support the Commercial Banking and Lending division .

Commercial Program Structure:
A Commercial Management Trainee is an active contributing member of the Management Trainee Program and is held to the same measurable standards as their Management Trainee peers. The Commercial Management Trainee Program is composed of two phases that include formal, in-market, and corporate-based training over an eighteen (18) to twenty-four (24) month period.
- Onboarding & Phase I: Trainees will kick-start the program working together on a group project/rotation, with additional training provided during the summer onboarding period. Following that time, Phase I of the program will begin. Phase I will last about six (6) – eight (8) months and provides foundational exposure to the Commercial Banking division.
- Phase II: Upon completion of Phase I, Commercial Trainees will begin Phase II of the program, which takes place in their assigned market. At this time, the Commercial MT returns/relocates to their assigned region and is managed directly by their assigned in-market manager for the remainder of the program.
- Promotional opportunities post-program will be available in the Columbia, Maryland market.
Start Date: June 2024.
Work Location & Schedule:
- Onboarding & Phase I: June 2024 - end of March 2025 the Trainee will work out of our Corporate Headquarters location in Downtown Lancaster, PA. (Temporary housing will be provided for non-local residents.)
- Phase II: Trainees will work in their assigned market. (Relocation assistance is not provided).
- Must be available to work on-site in both phases of the program.
- Must follow Fulton Bank's hybrid work arrangement: working an on-site and remote schedule each week.
- Remote work accommodations will vary depending upon rotational assignment.
Work Hours: Standard hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (dependent on the work volume and rotational assignment). (Required)
- The Management Trainee Program may require overtime hours and travel to various locations dependent upon the department rotation, work schedule, volunteer opportunity, or business need. When necessary, travel within Fulton's footprint (up to 20-30% depending on assignment) and hours worked may vary. Trainees are eligible for mileage reimbursement and overtime compensation.

- Under moderate supervision from the MT Program Manager and/or Rotation Manager, the Trainee is responsible for observing policies and procedures to acquire a working knowledge of all aspects of the Corporation's operation and services, while performing assigned duties in department rotations and executing with the intent to meet or exceed expectations.
- Conducts special projects and assignments outside scope of normal rotation, attending seminars, events, and various corporate engagements in support of the Bank and/or employee professional development.
- Embraces coaching and feedback and demonstrates accountability and self-awareness to take action and adjust behavior as needed to be the most effective in the workplace.
- Takes full responsibility and initiative to lead and/or or participate in various efforts assigned to the Management Trainee class, including fundraisers, campaigns, and community involvement opportunities.
- Routinely communicates and reports on progress in program and provides feedback about program and experience to Manager(s).
- Rotations will include exposure to the following areas: Credit, Business Loan Center, Sales Markets, Product and Strategy, Product Sales, Treasury Management, Commercial Operations, Specialized Commercial Lending, Consumer Banking. Select individuals will represent Fulton Bank and partner with executives to support regional United Way campaigns.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree obtained from an accredited college or university.
- Specialty focus in Accounting, Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Real Estate, or another Business or Banking related program.
Preferred Education:
- Achievement of a graduating GPA of 3.0 or higher in an undergraduate or graduate program is strongly preferred.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of six (6) months' work experience through internship, co-op or direct work experience in banking/financial services, customer service, or a business-related field (example – retail, call center, customer focused field, etc.).
- Measurable leadership demonstrated through work experience, professional development, collegiate, fraternal, athletics, social, school, or volunteer position.
- Ability and desire to leverage technology to create digital efficiencies in the workplace.
Strong technical skills and digital acumen utilizing Microsoft Office including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as webcam/video and other systems and platforms. - Ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication, a curious growth mindset with a willingness to learn, a strong and professional personal brand, effective time management skills, willingness to receive coaching and feedback, and the ability to work independently or on a team meeting deadlines and producing high quality deliverables.
This role may perform other job duties as assigned by the manager. Each employee of the Organization, regardless of position, is accountable for reading, understanding and acting on the contents of all Company-assigned and/or job related Compliance Programs, regulations and policies and procedures, as well as ensure that all Compliance Training assignments are completed by established due dates. This includes but is not limited to, understanding and identifying compliance risks impacting their department(s), ensuring compliance with applicable laws or regulations, and escalating compliance risks to the appropriate level of management.
