Full Time; AM and varies as needed; Monday - Friday with occasional weekends
Expected starting wage range is $124,129.72 - $153,303.28. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY The Employee Relations Manager partners closely with leaders at all levels of the organization to mitigate risk, reduce exposure and enable decisions that are aligned with strategic initiatives, company values, mission and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Oversees the employee and labor relations function which includes initiating a proactive, strategic approach to employee relations by identifying and analyzing data/metrics for themes, trends, and root cause identification. Responsibilities also include the management and coordination of workplace investigations, grievances, complaints, contract negotiations and responding to agency claims.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · Demonstrate the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders
· Lead, manage and direct a team of Employee Relations Specialist.
· Provide guidance to leaders regarding employee relations, labor relations, and collective bargaining agreements.
· Draft, modify, and provide input for training for HR policies.
· Proactively identify, develop, and implement tools, resources and solutions that help shape a positive employee experience.
· Partner with labor counsel to address labor issues, including grievances, arbitration, and labor charges.
· Actively participate in contract negotiations.
· Identify negotiation strategies that take into account factors beyond the immediate negotiations or bargaining unit.
· Manage competing, high priority demands, prioritizing workload, managing projects and multiple responsibilities against strict deadlines.
· Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential situations with objectivity.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Participate in arbitration, mediation, and depositions as needed.
· Partner with employment counsel to manage and address complex employee relations issues.
· Open availability and flexibility to work according to the needs of the business.
· Promote knowledge, understanding, and compliance with regard to company policy through coaching, presentations, and training.
· Manage and provide guidance to direct reports on medical accommodations and leave of absences.
· Collaborate with business leaders and key stakeholders on performance and change management solutions.
· Interface with state and federal administrative agencies as needed.
· Identify and predict trends to mitigate risk and make recommendations to VP of Human Resources and other senior business leaders for improved employee relations and business results based on data and findings.
· Prepare data reports and presentations for senior leaders.
· Collaborate with leaders to define HR strategies that effectively supports the organization and deliver results.
· Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict.
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.
Position requires driving own personal vehicle for company business such as trainings, offsite meetings, etc. QUALIFICATIONS Required: · Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field.
· Seven (7) years' direct experience in employee and/or labor relations
· Two (2) years of supervisory experience managing employees with labor relations duties
· Broad knowledge of employee relations, complex workplace investigations, federal and state laws / regulations (including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, ADAAA and FMLA)
· Ability to manage and provide guidance on complex situations related to reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities and leave of absences
· Ability to work independently and be part of a team environment while developing highly effective and valued professional relationships with peers, colleagues, and cross-functional teams
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification.
Position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual or local requirements may apply
Preferred: · Human Resource Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
· Master's Degree
· Previous experience providing Human Resources support for a health care organization
SKILLS · Ability to analyze data, trends, and insights to identify the root cause of issues
· Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, twist, bend, and occasionally required squat, kneel, crawl, and climb , as well as to frequently, twist, reach and do simple and power grasping and lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires manual deviation, repetition and dexterity and to occasionally drive and be exposed to uneven walking ground. Visual requirements include computers and books exposure.
