RECEPTIONIST

Please note this is a part-time position. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Greets and processes visitors and directs them to the appropriate person in division to ensure operating effectiveness and to project the desired image of CTC to the public.
• Greets and processes visitors to the facility.
• Ensures that all visitors complete the required entries in the visitor register.
• Determines the nature of the visits, contacts the appropriate individual or department being visited to arrange for an escort.
• Issues the appropriate badge; ensures visitors surrender badges upon departure; account for all badges daily.
• Verifies that all visitors entering the facility display an authorized badge.
• Verifies that all employees display an authorized badge as they enter the facility.
• Operates the Front Desk telephone to ensure that guests and callers are responded to quickly and professionally.
• Types and performs other standard clerical work, usually while at the switchboard or console.
• Performs additional responsibilities as appropriate or as requested.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly or frequently sitting, talking, hearing, grasping, touching, standing, walking, reaching with hands/arms and performing repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movements.
• Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force.
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less, 20 feet or more, ability to identify and distinguish colors, ability to see up and down or right or left while fixed on a point to watch parking spaces, security door, check badges for clearance color, read fine print in telephone directory, etc.
• Normal attention to distribute mail, schedule conference rooms, maintain security door/logbooks, etc.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Basic math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide working with decimals and monetary units) and intermediate language, writing and reading skills.

Work Environment:

• Moderate noise level (i.e., computers, printers, etc.).
• Indoor temperature-controlled office environment.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma plus some additional college level coursework preferred.
• Experience in greeting the public in a high traffic, highly visible position.
• Familiar with standard office equipment.
