Production Operator (CZI)

Job description

This Production Operator position is responsible for following complex, detailed procedures and to complete documentation per specifications on time and without defect. Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines used in the production of silicon wafers, including metrology tools and chemical etching. Works from product specifications or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation against predetermined tolerances.

Operators must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing in a clean room environment. Safety glasses, Nitrile gloves, clean room suit, and hair net are required. Use of ear plugs is optional. Etch Line requires the following additional PPE: chemical apron, chemical boots, safety goggles, safety shield and chemical gloves.

Position will be working a 12-hour Day Shift, 6am to 6pm, on a compressed workweek, alternating 3-ON/4-OFF and 4-ON/3-OFF weekly schedule which includes working every other weekend and may require additional overtime days on occasion as well.

Additional essential job functions and requirements include:

PHYSICAL:

- Ability to work around hazardous and volatile chemicals

- Ability to be standing primarily throughout the day for most job functions.

- Sitting for long periods of time required for visual assignments

- Occasionally lifting of up to 25 lbs.

- Lifting of parts and use of hand tools in kneeling, bending and crouching positions may be required

- Ability to grasp and use repetitive motion/movement of wrists, hands, and fingers

COGNITIVE:

- High attention to detail used to review work orders and load material onto the appropriate tool sets and load the correct recipes according to customer specifications.

- Use a computer keyboard to input data, track and confirm incoming and outgoing material for each process step

- Complete computerized forms and labels for each tool

- Complete requests for delivery of materials and equipment per work orders and schedule requirements

- Perform daily calibrations for each process tool and verify all calibration data meets process specifications before releasing tool to production

- Continuously monitor, analyze, and verify that all data and all processes are correct and meet quality specifications before moving material to the next process step

- Understands/follows product specs, SWP’s/RFCs, control charts, and other documentation related to assigned process

- Ability to understand basic maintenance processes of assigned equipment

- Knows process for handling equipment issues through team and maintenance resources

- Performs tasks to clean equipment and the area to meet clean room and 5S standards for that area

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, computes percentages, per unit costs, and decimals using a calculator.

- Filing, paperwork, organization of documents, operating copier or scanner

VISUAL ACUITY:

- Close vision acuity (<2 feet) required

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Using and answering a desk telephone to communicate

- Experienced and accurate in the use of a computer, keyboard, and a monitor

- Experience in software use, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, E-mail, or other similar software is desired

- Can operate a calculator, copier, scanner, cell phone, and telephone

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

- Must have ability to communicate effectively in English with management and co-workers

- Must have ability to read and write in English

- Ability to create, read, comprehends, and explains instructions, procedures, technical and informational manuals, reports, correspondence for self and for others
