Director of Personnel

Kelly is seeking a Director of Personnel to work with our client, a successful mid-size manufacturing company, on a direct hire basis!
The Director of Personnel will:
Lead and manage the HR team (5 direct reports), providing guidance and support
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization's overall goals
Collaborate with senior management to understand and address the human resource needs of the organization
Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and selection of candidates
Develop and implement effective onboarding programs for new employees
Handle employee relations issues and mediate conflicts
Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment
Implement performance appraisal systems and provide guidance on employee development
Advise management on performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions
Identify training needs and coordinate training programs
Promote professional development opportunities for employees
Manage compensation and benefits programs
Stay updated on industry trends and benchmarks to ensure competitive offerings
Develop and update HR policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws
Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction
Conduct employee surveys and feedback sessions
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of HR information systems
Leverage technology for efficient HR processes
Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with health and safety regulations
Develop and implement workplace wellness programs
Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational objectives
Utilize HR analytics to make informed decisions and measure HR metrics
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a similar field
10+ years of experience in Human Resources, including management/supervisory roles
Manufacturing industry experience required
Ability to travel domestically
An entrepreneurial mindset
Excellent communication skills
Experience with digital employee onboarding & management tools
Outgoing & welcoming personality
