Substitute Teacher

Status: Non-Exempt, Per Diem Teaching Faculty
Position Summary
The Hill School is currently seeking per diem substitute teachers for grades 9 thru 12. The substitute will maintain the academic focus of the classroom, provide support and assistance for students, and provide a safe and respectful classroom environment.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Ideally, a candidate will possess at least 3 years of experience teaching or other work with adolescents. The successful candidate will possess effective classroom management skills, a love of working with students; the ability to create a joyful learning environment where students are inspired and empowered to learn; a high level of energy and flexibility; a reflective and growth-oriented mindset; a commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning; and a sense of humor. While most of the time the teacher will have clear written lesson plans to execute in the absence of the classroom teacher, experience in developing a curriculum is a bonus.
