PAY RANGE

$75,000 - $95,000 Annual Salary - Pay based on applicable experience and qualifications

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Systems Engineer II will work collectively with the Information Technology (IT) team to ensure the stable operation of MidPen’s IT computing environment. Specific responsibilities include initial design planning, installing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing MidPen Information systems. The Systems Engineer II is responsible for recommending potential systems and/or solutions, taking into consideration system interconnectivity between MidPen systems/applications and physical locations. The incumbent would additionally work as an IT project lead and analyst to assist in executing internal and external IT projects. This position involves a combination of technical skills and acumen, strong organization and problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

This is a hybrid position, based on current MidPen policy of working Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Foster City Office. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, option to work from home or the office. When working from home, requires a reliable internet connection

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Root Cause Analysis: works with other teams and staff to identify root cause of problems and develop proactive strategies for future problem prevention
• Lead the resolution of complex and critical incidents, ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption to business operations
• Provide critical-level technical support and guidance on complex IT issues, collaborating with other IT teams and external vendors as needed
• Create and maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, procedures, and configurations, facilitating knowledge transfer and training for Level 1 and 2 technicians, including user guides and release notes
• Design, facilitate, and implements functional and technical solutions that are architecturally sound, stable, robust, scalable, and adaptable
• Collaborate with stakeholders, cross-functional teams to define document project scope, requirements, and to ensure IT services align with OKR’s
• Assists to help develop, communicate, and manage project milestones ensuring deliverables are completed within established timelines
• Installs hardware and software, and conducts system upgrades (servers, workstations, business applications and associated network hardware) in compliance with established IT guideline

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• Five (5) plus years of experience in IT support and systems administration
• Must have at least five (5) years’ experience working in Microsoft Active Directory environment & Microsoft mixed server environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Productivity suite of products and Microsoft SharePoint application
• Proficient and hands-on working knowledge of automation/low-code tools such as Power Automate
• Knowledge of industry best practices related to system management, change control and management processes and access control processes
• Competent in completing assigned tasks independently, and ability to meet deadlines using time management skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
• Adept multi-tasker under pressure in order to meet competing deadlines, gather and analyze information, and solve problems skillfully and timely in a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Must have a valid California Driver License, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance policy

Physical Requirements

• Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks, frequently sitting
• Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 25 pounds
• Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl
