Husson’s School of Science and Humanities is seeking part time instructors to teach the following courses:1. First-Year Composition I and II. These courses require instructors to teach composition, including argumentation and other strategies students require to develop college-level writing abilities.
2. Communication. These courses include Speech, Professional Communication, and Interpersonal Communication.
3. Writing in the Health Professions. This course requires that instructors teach research writing (a Literature Review), APA formatting, interoffice communication, and public health communication within the health care context. A standardized curriculum will be provided.
4. Writing Workshop Lab facilitators (1 credit courses). Lab facilitators will be responsible for meeting with developmental English students and helping them address their writing assignments. Lab facilitators may be assigned to more than one section. Examples of Duties
Adapt the standard Husson and course syllabi and outcomes to prepare syllabi for assigned courses.Prepare and teach the assigned courses with student learning outcomes and academic rigor in mind.Learn and apply all relevant Husson academic and faculty policies.Work collaboratively with the Chair of Humanities, the Writing Program Administrator, and other faculty.Learn and use Husson’s Canvas CMS, Gmail, faculty and portal.Attend occasional training or coordination meetings.Typical Qualifications
Instructors for Composition I, II must have completed their Masters degree in English, Communications, or a related field.
Instructors for Writing in the Health Professions, a completed Masters degree in English or Communications, or related field and some experience working in the health professions strongly preferred.
Communication Instructors must have completed a Masters degree in Communication or a related field.
Lab Facilitators must have completed some graduate work in English or a related field, and illustrate an understanding of English Composition, including a working understanding of writing process, grammar, and mechanics.
For all positions: Some college teaching experience preferred.Supplemental Information

Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,100.00 maximum per credit hour*
*Rate is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the course assigned.

Masters Prepared $1,150.00 per credit hour
Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,250.00 per credit hour
