Position requires experience with Structural/Bridge design and engineering techniques, experience working on Utah DOT projects is a plus. Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to unique problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company standards.

Duties Include:

• Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience
• Work closely with CAD staff to provide clear and accurate construction documents.
• Provide project management on smaller projects and assist with project management and scheduling for larger multi-disciplined projects
• Prepare calculations and reports, in particular bridge selection reports
• Develop probable construction cost estimates for projects
• Observe construction and coordinate with contractors
• Coordinate work with other disciplines such as roadway, geotechnical, structures, etc.
• Handle routine contract administration

• Bachelors degree in Engineering *
• PE/SE license
• Natural leader willing to champion a team of engineers and technicians
• 8 - 10 years Structures Engineering work-related experience
