Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Head of Finance to join our team. The Controller will oversee all financial activities of the company, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding our company's values.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial goals and objectives.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and investment activities to optimize the company's financial performance.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounting and finance.
- Knowledge with complex state Sales Tax Reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- NetSuite and Avalara experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience working in the IT consulting industry is a plus.
