Job description

Johnson Brothers Corporation, a Southland Company seeks a Project Controls Manager in Grapevine, Texas, to coordinate and manage aspects of planning and execution for various major construction projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and pipelines. Specific duties include: (i) developing, monitoring, and updating integrated project work plans and schedules so projects can be efficiently executed; (ii) preparing baseline schedules, progress schedule updates and reports on P6; (iii) assisting with buyout including drafting purchase orders, subcontract agreements and negotiating contract pricing to come in under budget; (iv) managing project controls for water and wastewater group projects, including cost controls, submittal logs, and schedule updates for multiple $100million plus projects; (v) assessing impacts to critical path and near-critical activities and reporting to project team; (vi) preparing Time Impact analyses, forensic schedule delay analyses, and Claim Diggers; Evaluating change orders, claims; (vii) providing corporate project controls support for various projects and performing schedule audits; (viii) overseeing project engineers’ work and training, delegating work, and providing guidance; (ix) Budget and Cost projections/reviews; and (x) supporting preconstruction team with estimates, schedules & material takeoffs.

Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in a related position. In the alternative, will accept a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in one of the above-noted fields plus five (5) years of experience in a related position.

Must have five (5) years of experience with Primavera P6.

Must have three (3) years of experience with construction of new or expansion of existing water, wastewater, or reverse osmosis treatment facilities.

Must also have any experience: (i) developing schedules and time impact analyses, analyzing schedule impacts and performing schedule analysis on complex (>$100million) projects; (ii) developing schedule logic of construction activities and sequencing complex projects; (iii) interpreting construction contracts, including plans and specifications; (iv) with cost controls including budget, revenue, forecasting/projections, change orders, and claims; (v) developing recovery schedules and what-if schedules on P6; (vi) contract administration, including managing purchase orders and subcontract agreements; (vii) SAGE Timberline and TimberScan software; and (viii) Quantity Takeoffs, Estimation, and Pricing Estimates.

Experience can be concurrent.

Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug test.

Must be willing and able domestically and internationally to travel up to 20%.
